In celebration of Henri A. Termeer’s commitment to scientific discovery and mentorship of aspiring and accomplished scientists, the MassBioEd Henri A. Termeer Biotechnology and Life Science Educator Grant recognizes dedicated life science teachers from Massachusetts schools who mentor their students in answering and more importantly, asking rich questions in the spirit of scientific excellence. The grant will provide a teacher with the opportunity to enrich their own learning and educational craft with a grant to be used toward professional development or continuing education in life science-related fields and equipment or reagents needed for innovative life science curricula.
You may nominate yourself or a colleague by submitting a 500-word essay that describes the nominee’s success in transforming life science learning through a culture of discovery and the incorporation of authentic science activities. Closing date for all nominations and applications is October 22, 2019. Applicants will be notified of their status no later than November 12, 2019. The winning applicant will be honored at the Champions for Biotechnology Education awards reception on the evening of Wednesday, November 20 from 5:30-8PM at the UMass Club on One Beacon Street in Boston.
