DESE is hiring a Contracted Science Task Development Specialist to support the development of more authentic, relevant, and purposeful assessments to assess deeper learning of science content and practice standards. The Specialist will work directly with the Innovative Assessments Project Manager to create and/or adapt existing classroom-based science performance assessment tasks, scoring rubrics, and supporting materials. 

A strong candidate will be someone who is passionate about making sure all students have access to high-quality, culturally relevant STE education, and has experience both driving student learning as sense-makers and supporting the growth of other educators.
