Job Posting: High School Physics Teacher

Status: Full-time (Academic year 2021-22)

Boston College High School is a Jesuit, Catholic college preparatory school located in the city of Boston. The science department invites applications to fill an open position in Physics. The individual hired will be primarily responsible for teaching Physics with the possibility of additional teaching assignments in other areas of science. Strong candidates will show:

• Competency and passion to engage every student in a rigorous college preparatory curriculum
• Willingness to embrace a student-centered digital learning model that incorporates education technology tools, open education resources, and varied instructional strategies
• A strong and sincere commitment to professional development in both pedagogy and current practices within the discipline of Physics
• Collaborative and cooperative spirit in teaching and in curriculum development
• Knowledge and commitment around diversity, equity and inclusion practices

Requirements:
• 1-3 years teaching physics or chemistry at high school or introductory college level
• A bachelor’s degree in physics, engineering and/or chemistry. A graduate degree in science, education and/or a related field preferred
Ability to work as part of a team to foster a positive working relationship with students and staff.
