Job Summary

BB&N is seeking an experienced, full-time science teacher to teach seventh and eighth grade science. The candidate hired will teach three to four classes and work in our co-curricular/ Advisory program, advise students and support student programs, such as science club. Additional responsibilities will vary according to current program need and new initiatives. The science program in grade seven introduces students to topics in physics (forces, motion and energy), while science in the eighth grade explores the general principles of chemistry. Both classes incorporate hands-on activities and independent projects, and technology is infused throughout the curriculum.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in laboratory or environmental science or a related field, a masters' degree in education or science and experience teaching middle school science. A strong background in technology is required.
